Recipe: Incredible Crab Cakes
With summer rolling in, everyone gets in the seafood mood. Check out this great crab cake recipe that you can serve warm or room temperature – great for bringing along on the boat in the evening!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of crabmeat
- 1/3 cup of crushed crackers (i.e. Ritz)
- 3 green onions, chopped finely
- 1/2 cup of bell pepper, chopped finely
- 1/4 of mayo
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp of dry mustard
- 1/2 of lemon, juiced
- 1/4 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp of salt
- a dash of cayenne pepper
- Flour for dusting
- 1/2 cup of peanut oil
- and your favorite dipping sauce! (For serving)
After gathering your ingredients, this is relatively simple process.
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix together all your ingredients except your flour and peanut oil.
- Shape the mixture into patties and dust with flour
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Once the oil gets hot, place your crab cakes in the oil. (Carefully! Their still fragile at this point.)
- Fry in the pan until their brown – typically 4-5 minutes.
- Then flip crab cakes and let them fry for another 4 minutes.
- Pull them out and you’re done! Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
