Lakefront vs. Off Water Living

You might be thinking the question posed by this blog title has an obvious answer and in some ways it does. The biggest difference between living lakefront or off water is indeed the lake, but there are many more differences between the two. Besides having the view, living lakefront provides a vastly different landscape than living off the water. The water naturally brings a different set of wildlife and recreation right to your backyard.
Living on the water has such a tranquil feeling that you can’t get anywhere else. It’s also very convenient to be able to walk out your back yard and jump into your boat for a cruise on the lake or go fishing, skiing, swimming or tubing anytime you want!

The community on the lake can also be very diverse, more than most other communities. Families, singles, older adults, young families all make the lake their home. Sharing the same water space is something that bonds neighbors together making for a strong community.

The hustle and bustle in living off the water isn’t found within a lake community. It is restful and relaxing, yet there is plenty to do. Living on a lake, especially in Central Indiana, has a sense of exclusivity as not everyone lives on a lake. While you can get away and relax by living on a lake, there is always something to do. Activities abound especially during the warmer months with boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, hiking, and more.
